Saint George (Aghios Georgios)
The most beautiful probably beach of Antiparos, with golden sand and turquise water, is found in Aghios Georgios, a small settlement 11 kilometres from the harbour.

The surrounding area is ideal for holidays, as it is quiet and very well protected from strong North winds which usually prevail at the Cyclades Islands during August. There are no bars or clubs nearby, just a couple of family-owned restaurants offering some real good domestic cuisine. The bay of St Giorgio is at a distance of 350m from the property and has two lovely sandy beaches as well as some interesting caves at the far side of the bay. A small boat with a small engine or even a kayak is a “must-have” if you decide upon buying onw of Anemos condos. The bay is full of fish, octopus and calamaries (can be tried at the local restaurants as well) and the exploration of the caves and Despotiko island (less than half a mile across the bay) is an everyday magnificent experience. Despotiko island is totally uninhabited by government law since it is full of pre-hestoric ruins of 4000BC. However visits are allowed and the wilderness of the place is astonishing as well as the small beaches all around. The area of St Giorgio appeals to all those nature lovers who seek serene isolation, the observation and the aroma of the Cycladic nature, the romantic nights under the stars, the capturing of the sunrise and sunset colours, as a means of escaping their city-life, strongly associated with every day stress and dependence on technology.
